We got to finish our Great Controversy trip with the boat tour on the Seine in Paris, France. We got on the top deck of this big boat, and there were a lot of people on it. The sun was setting gorgeously as we cruised along the river and got to see the wonderful cityscape of the magnificent Paris, the worldwide known landmarks, and all the people sitting along the riverbanks enjoying the evening.
Everyone was enjoying the ride and the scenery. Throughout the boat tour, many people pulled out their phones and cameras to take pictures, just having a good time. The highlight of the tour came at the end. The ride lasted 60 minutes. In the last 15 minutes, the grand Eiffel Tower began to rise into view as we got closer. At that moment, everyone on the top deck stood up to pose for pictures. It was quite the scene, not just the tower, but also the people getting up from their seats to find the best pose and spot to capture the city’s most iconic landmark.
When Jesus returned to heaven, the angels promised, “This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” Acts 1:11. The second coming of Jesus will be the greatest event that we all look forward to. Then, when Jesus returns, “the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17. The Eiffel Tower is nothing compared to the glorious return of Jesus, and it will happen soon. “Therefore encourage one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:18.
