It was a windy morning, but that was not going to stop me from going for a run. The temperature wasn’t cold and I didn’t have to wear my gloves. The crosswind was evident, but it was not strong enough to cause me any trouble. I was having a good time and enjoying my run. I reached my turnaround point and I started running back. In a few minutes, I felt a strong tailwind and it felt so good. The wind from the back gave me a boost and let me run faster with ease and I felt like Usain Bolt!

Sometimes you hear about jet planes flying over the Atlantic almost close to the speed of sound. Typically a Boeing 787 Dreamliner flies at about 600 mph, but this one time it was flying at 835 mph! This actually happens quite often as these planes fly on the powerful jet stream across the Atlantic Ocean that moves one direction to another.

There are many ways to describe the Holy Spirit, and John 3:8 is one of them. “The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Jesus tells Nicodemus that one must be born of water and the Spirit, and the Holy Spirit here is described as the wind. Even though we can’t see the wind, we feel its presence. That is the same with our Holy Spirit. His involvement is a big part of our salvation and moves us closer to our heavenly Father. Just like the early church, we must seek the Holy Spirit to be poured upon us today!
